service call was unit not cool, (but the house is cool not enough but it is cool), unit runs all day and night, never turns off.
set gauges low of r22, cut coil and washed coil, coil dirty.
soldered coil back to unit, opened valves done, so i thought got a call back still doing the same thing.

psi-64 is SLT 73 -37-SST = huge 36-F Superheat
temp-35> 64-psig is 37-F
suctionline temp-73 (6-8 from compressor).

Well, 36-F is a lot of superheat, also there is no Subcooling, therefore there's either not enough liquid refrigerant entering the coil or you have a huge hot air leak into the Return-Air system.


Could be a combination of both, hot air source leaking into the Return & low on R-22. Just a guess... ;) :p - Darrell

Also, data indicative of low charge, & several other problems.

condesner (low subcooling) - not enough charge
evaporator - (high superheat) not enough charge
Where is it? Cant be hiding somewhere else.

37 degree coil doesnt suggest a huge load on the system. Although I am confused how you measured 27 at the evaporator?
