I have a question. My house is a split level ranch. I have the first level cooled by a conventional central air system. I have a Mr Slim ductless split in my upstairs bedroom. I had this put in because running duct work up there would have been very difficult and I do not think it would have cooled that room anywhere near as well as the rest of the house. So I have a two zone system. Zone one is the entire downstairs and zone two is my upstairs bedroom. My question is should I let the Mr Slim run all day set at a temperature equal to the tstat on the conventional system and leave my bedroom door open all day so they work in concert with each other or should I keep my bedroom door closed and run the unit like I would a regular window unit, when I need it (when I am going to bed most likely)? Are these designed to be used to keep the zone at the desired temp all day or only when you really need it to be cool?
