I have been searching for a new roof top a/c and heating central air unit. All this information is overwhelming. After several quotes/estimates....I have narrowed it down to two products. American standard 3.5 ton and a lennox 3 ton. The lennox rep says that he can increase the output to match a 3.5 ton system....does that decrease the efficiency? I am also curious about the difference between the AS spine coil and the Lennox scroll coil. Which is better?
I live in hot dry so. cal. Should I be looking for something that increses the moisture in the air or not?

3 ton is 3 ton. How does he propose to turn it into a 3.5 ton which is 42,000 BTUs?

Spine Fin coils have been made for 50 years, great coil. Single metal and continuous tubing so very unlikely to leak vs the plate fin coil everyone else uses.
