OK. Here we go.

One of my stores is having trouble with a couple Hussmann NF6 cases (Impact type open high back cases). I haven't been there yet, but I will, SOON, I'm sure.

Here is what I know.

Honeycombs have been cleaned, HG defrost checks out (3x daily, 12 minutes, 15 runoff, 60 termination)

Complaint is that there is ice building in the honeycombs.

Humidity is "good". Nobody gave me specific readings like I asked for.

Thought? Suggestions?

Thanks.

I believe those cases have anti sweat heaters in the primary honeycombs. Could be that.

Some resolution to the problems.

Yes, I finally got there, as predicted.

Humidity in store was not "good" as I was told. Store was cold and humid. A dose of heat reclaim dried that out pretty nicely. Store is actually comfortable now.

Also, hot gas differential was only about 10 psid. Crank that to 20 for a better flow through defrost.

Now for the tricky one. Out of 25 circuits, 2 were overlapping hot gas defrost. Want to guess what one of them was?

You got it.

Hot gas defrost doesn't much care for overlapping defrosts.
