I have read a lot here and learned a few things from this forum. Now I have narrowed it down to Carrier or Comfortmaker brands for the 50K BTU 80% furnace and a 1.5 Ton AC R410A unit for an 800 sq ft ranch (in Michigan) on a crawl space. Is there any reason to choose one over the other if the price is just $50 more for the Carrier system? I've read on this forum that at the lower end (80% efficient) most models are about the same.

I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.

Basically the same machines made in the same plants when it comes to lower tier equipment. I have watched Carrier and Comfortmaker be made 3 lines down from each other in Collierville. Either one will do you a good job, just go with a contractor that will do you a great job.

That little difference, from the same contractor,or different ones?

Check the warranties on each, also see if the Carrier has a 100% satisfaction guarantee, for the first full year, for your protection and peace of mind.

The systems are from different contractors. Warranty is the same from both. I need to ask about the 100% satisfaction guarantee - it was not mentioned on the estimate.
