I have a 3500 sf 3 level house with 3 trane units in Raleigh NC.
The second floor unit failed it's routine checkup today. The service tech said the freon was low and there is a leak at the metering device. He said that the metering device needs to be replaced with the coils and that i should replace the whole system, rather than spend a thousand $ on this one.
Trane xf 80 gas furnace and a/c unit model TXH033a4hpa 1; 9 years old.
I am the second owner and this is the a/c units first inspection in 5 years. I signed a service contract this winter.
