I have a Carrier 38YCC split system heat pump that has a grounded compressor. I understand that the Carlyle Millenium scrolls were not very rugged and the fact that this one only lasted about 7 years reinforces that. Any reasons not to replace the compressor with a Copeland Scroll?

The original Carrier is a SRD600AC01. Does anyone know the proper Copeland equivalent?

Thanks, Tom

Copeland, Copeland, Copeland, Carrier was using Millennium for a while in their B-series condensers and they failed big time. Every carrier that i replaced a compressor in had a Millennium compressor in , they all failed or burnout, and the TXV was always stopped up. Copeland is it! :D

Last time I replaced the compressor in a Carrier product that had a millennium scroll in it, Carrier gave me a Copeland scroll compressor.

Why didn't they just do this to begin with and they could have saved thousands of Home Owners and techs a lot of grief, guess that was another one of there better idea's. :D

The Copelands that I have used to replaced a bad compressor have done a fine job. Don't for get that by-flow filter and a new capicator.
