Has Anyone come acoss a bad suction accumulator? Not sure what can go wrong,Have a small chiller ,Floading back,low low load ,has accumulator,R22,suction 20lb,low temp compresor discus.Want to know if a suction accumulator can go bad?thanks

I've seen them rust through.
Heard of them clogging up the oil return port.
That's about it.

Why do you suspect the accumulator?

I agree with JP on this.
First you should verify that there is in fact a flooded condition...and not just assume flooding just because you see frost. What the suction superheat?
Secondly, if there is a flooded condition here, the accumulator won't cure it. It's only intended to handle intermittent surges of liquid.
Let's hear some numbers.

x4, I had a unit with the same symptoms a couple of months ago, and it was flooding back, pumping the oil out of the compressor as well, turned out to be the wrong undersized txv. New TXV gave it full load.
