It seems Bitzer has a 3 year warranty, as opposed to Copeland's 1 year.

My guess is this nationwide customer is only the first to retrofit Bitzers.

Stand by for a tsunami.

Copeland.... do you savvy?

I recently was talking with someone at a seminar and was told that bitzer is gaining market share at a great rate of speed. The OEMS, are now using and deploying them at a greater pace than any time in the past. Copeland has had a long run at being the top dog. And so, I think it would be good to have some competition for once. Maybe some prices will go down.

Copeland is suffering from the same delusion as our automotive industry... they truly think they're too big, too secure to be vulnerable. And their pricing reflects that attitude.

The Bitzer appears to be a good solid reliable machine. With triple the warranty time, it's a no-brainer for at least one national account.

Copeland better get their corporate head out of their corporate ass. Fast.

I agree with you Dow, the competition should be good for all of us.

Always liked copelands stuff, rarely had any issues. I agree with having some competition, it will definitely help in several ways.

You have to scratch your head when it comes to big international corporations. Up until a few weeks ago Bitzer and Copeland were business partners. Copeland sold re-branded (and re-painted) Bitzer screws in the US.

I thjought I read somewhere before that Ingersoll-Rand company bought Bitzer, I couldn't find that again so I'm not 100% sure if it's true.

So if IR owns Bitzer it would only make sense to see them on Hussmann racks where a customer didn't specify a paticular brand of pump!

IR owns Trane. From their respective sites, I don't believe IR and Bitzer are related.

That's what I thought. Those IR compressors look just like Bitzers with blue paint.

I have seen literature that shows IR with Hussmann on their Port-A-Paks. Not sure if it still stands though?:D

When I was with Hussmann, word came that Hussmann had worked a deal to have Bitzers re-branded and then sold as Hussmann compressors. There's one store that I knoiw of here in Vegas that has them. I'm not sure that means one company owns the other, only that a deal had been struck. And that was a year or so ago.... a lot has changed sinced then.
