I'm working on a silverking cooler model SKSB4812
R22 3900 BTU serial SRB41347R
Two door reach in with the prep table and top opening for food access.
Main problem was dirty condenser- plugged solid
It was running hot so the rear panel was removed. When I got there the compressor was dead and the condenser fan blade was on backwards with airflow being drawn thru (sort of). Replaced compressor and reversed fan blade after a two day cleaning-plenty of air. Went back to get rear panel to run the cooler. It got tossed. I have two questions.
What does the rear panel look like?
Which way is the air supposed to flow?
Just want to double check my homework.
What does an Americold model# SM232-1 compressor cross over to?
copeland, techumseh or embraco

I have only worked on a few Silver King units, but I do remember seeing that their fans were working backwords from how most other manufacturers do it. The air was being pushed from the back of the coil and out the front. I don't know if it would hurt anything to reverse it. As for the compressor, since you know it is 3900 btu's (high temp?) I would think you might be able to match something up just from that. I don't remember what the rear panels are supposed to look like.

GOT IT WORKING!!! Took alot of trial & error. The air has to move the way you said. I made a panel with openings on both bottom corners. The compressor is on the left corner and the condenser is on the right when looking at the back. Air goes in past the compressor and blows out thru the condenser. Would not work with the air going the other direction. Compressor tripped on thermal O/L.
