This is the first time I've seen a leak in a steel condenser coil. I wonder if its cheaper to replace the condenser then the coil.

Im sure replacing the condensing coil would be cheaper, but look at the condition of the condenser. The receiver is rusty bad, that low pressure control has seen better days, and it looks like it's seen at least one compressor replacement. In the long run, replacing the condenser is a cheaper option.

i agree on replacing the condensing unit or jus welded it(silver solder) and move on to the next call

Replace it, while your there, fix up the pipe work and get some better saddling in. Maybe look ing a weather proof cover over the unit as well, might extend expected life span
