I got a fellow tech that was asking about a Copeland recip compressor that had dual windings.

All i could remember is that it is easier on the motor to start in 2 parts rather than all at once.

anywho, does anyone have a PDF that explains copeland dual windings in more depth? all i can find is one with terminal plate connection identifications.

Is this the hermiticaly sealed comp? Had to change one a couple of months back, pretty basic once you know whats going on. Don't know wether I have any info other than what yo have allready, I could get a basic elec diagram showing starting method. It's just like wiring up in star delta, (with a low speed high speed and main contactor) except longer changeover and you can switch back to low speed.

Check sections 9 & 10 in Copeland AE-102 Refrigeration System Components attached.

Lots of good info in there. ;)
