OK. Ultrasite is starting to pi$$ me off.

After the last 2 updates x.68 and x.70, it seems to have lost the ability to support my USB-Serial adapter. I have uninstalled/reinstalled, changed ports and

Cnet and AKA65 have no problems with the adapter. I have been using this adapter for about 5 years now.

Ultrasite doesn't even see COM2 in the setup ports screen, but on the commuications info screen for a site, it sees COM2.

Anybody have any thoughts?

I thought it was just me being weak. I had the same problem, still unresolved. Sorry I can't help, but I'm very interested in what you come up with. :o

Contact CPC tech support

I changed laptops ,but kept my hard drive. I had the same problem somewhat.

Ultrasite would not see my comm ports.

They sent me (e-mail) a Reg. edit list . It's pretty simple , you copy and paste the text into your Windows registry and that seemed to fix the issue.

Good luck

why not go back to the ultrasite version that worked for you? i do not think that these last updates have been must have updates or else ultrasite will not work.

Can you go back?

I emailed our local cpc guy this morning and we will see what comes of it.

I will post any information that I get here.

Following is the text of the email I got back from Emerson.

Have you tried shutting your P.C. completely down and then powering the
P.C. back up while the USB to serial cable is still connected to the
device?

Once it the P.C. comes back up you can then check to see if there are
any new com ports available in UltraSite. It is normally com 4 that you
will use but I have seen other com ports being used to connect to a
device.

This is what I did.

Changed the setup from Com2 to Com4 and reboot PC.

Apparently that worked. I don't have a controller handy to test it on, but the port showed up and set up.

its 6 of half dozen of the other because these newer firmwares connect to these e-2's so much faster upgrade so much faster control more components on the other hand the rmcc's are just been forgotten i like rmcc because they can take a beaten and very easy to set up after hurricane wilma 3yrs ago all those rmcc in those weather pack units got wet etc.. got them dry change the comm chip they came on baby e-2's well they didnt make so its either go with the change or stay behind i would love to connect to rmcc so if anyone has any solution great like i said i got a dell 8600 with a 9pin adapter
