Not that I am aware of.

According to my local Emerson/CPC rep, CPC doesn't support operating Ultrasite on Vista at all.

Of course, then he told me that he was running US on a vista machine.

Welcome to my screw up, too. MSpanky, I believe, posted a while back that you can run another OS in 'virtual mode', or something like that, and that would work. I haven't followed up on it, but looks like I'll have too.

virtual mode displays on your laptop as if your were standing at pc. The key strokes are the same as if you were at the cpu. As you know ultrasite looks completley different than the actual screens. I don't know why it would work in 64 bit as opposed to the normal 32 because you have to be connected on 32 bit to display that mode.

I dont know about 64 bit. but on 32 bit you can go to properties then compatability and set it to run xp servicepack 2. Set to run as administrator and it should run trouble free. I use this for most compatability issues.

Virtual pc is a free program from microsoft. However you will need a new copy of xp. (about $100).

This is what I was talking about. You basically would have 2 operating systems on the computer. Boot to Vista, then launch XP (or Win7) from there. It would boot up and allow you to run Ultrasite.

I think that our office did that with Cnet and Win98 for a while. Seemed like more of a pain than it was worth.

it should be fairly easy to get hold of a copy of win 98 to load into Virtual PC and you won't have any activation issues. Ultrasite is perfectly happy in 98.

so you can have a 64 bit vista and a partition drive for x.p 32 bit

it is called Dual Boot ;)

when you load your computer, you pick what OS you wanna run.

you got to partition your hard drive and install the different OS on each partition.

Dual booting is OK if you're running a couple of resent OSes, EG XP or Linux but if you're trying to run something like win 98 or even 3.11 on a machine speced for vista, Virtual PC (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=28c97d22-6eb8-4a09-a7f7-f6c7a1f000b5&displaylang=en) lets you set up a virtual environment that the OS will run happily in. Also with Virtual PC you can run your OS of choice in a window like any other program. Much more convenient.
