I am sure that all of you Yankees [anyone North of the Florida-Georgia border] have decided to poison us down here by sending us some of your weather. Yankees deserve this weather for voting in Liberals, not us.

It is the week before Memorial Day and it was 55 degrees [a 35 degree drop] and raining this morning. It is supposed to pretty much stay this way for several more days.

The only bright spot is that my boat is broken [lost the gears in the gearcase Saturday and Merc Hi-Performance doesn't have one in stock] but if the weather ever clears we'll take the Jet skis to the Suwannee River anyway.

Maybe some of the Tourists will go back home to NYC...

The rain has been crazy this year! Granted we needed a lot of it, but nearly every day?

Grass is growing like mad and can't get time in between storms to mow.

I am from Boston. I also blame everything on those damn Yankees!

Although... so far this year it looks like those damn Blue Jays are responsible for all the world's ills.

FL ain't what it's cracked up to be. I went to FL on vacation a number of years ago. Rained every single day. Had about 4 hours of sunshine out of 168.

And the coldest I have ever been was in FL in early Nov., 1968. And I've been to AK in February.

FL does not impress me.

We flip the bad weather switch "on" any time we see Yankees heading South.
Right now the switch is stuck "on".

most of y'all ain't too familiar with Florida.... There are two Floridas: there's the "Yankee" Florida which is anything south of Ocala. Then there's the southerner Florida which is all of the panhandle down to Ocala.

Don't forget, in Jax there are still remnants of old plantations complete with slave quarters (nothin' to be proud of, BTW.).

Florida is definitely different now than it was when I was a child. I was the only Kid in my first grade class that was actually born in Florida. My Parents and two of my four siblings were born in Georgia [Yankees]. Most of Jacksonville was very rural with swamps and moss covered oak trees.

Orlando was single lane roads through the endless orange groves and the Atlantic coast was single lane highways lined with tourist traps and Mom/Pop hotels.

Everyone thought my Parents were crazy to build a house right on the swampy riverfront.

I still believe the worst thing to happen to Jax was the NFL coming here [Yankee/minority attractor].

Yep i know what you mean all those retired yankees flooding down there making the place dangerous as heck. I think they should chain their walkers up.
Building homes, spending money, lousey people. Maybe we should put a fence up or something,

What right? The right to continue to segragate and hang blacks? That's something to fight for. The enslavement [then] of Africans that were sold by their countrymen was not the root cause of the Civil War.

The issue then; Did the States give up their rights to live by their own laws when they joined the Union?

New York and Mass both rebelled against the Union and would not participate in the declared war of 1812 since they extensively traded with Europe and continued trading with them during the war. Neither was invaded or threatened with invasion. Their local governments remained intact.

When the South did the same thing, they were threatened with invasion and removal of their elected officials.

Just remember both North and South both participated in slavery originally and the North only freed the slaves [which definitely needed to be done] only when they felt it would help them win the war they were stalemated/losing.

The states rights is becoming an issue again when productive [red] states are having their taxpayers enslaved by their government to pay for welfare generations and illegal imigrants in the rust belt/fruit&nut blue states.

The next civil war might be economic and will probably have a much different outcome when the welfare money is cut off and each State will have to rely on its internal productivity. The blue states would become one big starving riot-filled cesspo....

Political correctness produces nothing you can eat...

Are you saying there aren't any welfare recipients and immigrants in the southern states? California, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Michigan are the only solidly blue states in the top 13 for number of welfare recipients. I still consider INdiana and Ohio more red than blue. Do you think nobody works in the blue states? What, exactly, do the southern states produce that we don't produce up here? Besides tobacco and Toyotas? ANd the southern states get plenty in federal aid, so let's stop the pretending game.

Texas and the Midwest breadbasket would probably be your "racehorses" if they had to stand alone [energy and food].

Nevada, Colorado and Arizona [who get the least federal taxes returned to them] could probably crank back up their mining operations and support themselves too [with Hydro-electric power].

Florida would have to shut down the tourism industry [a good thing] and go back to agriculture and allweather manufacturing.

Im just messin with you southerners, i love Florida even if there arent any conchs left.
But you guys do act pretty darn snotty sometimes.
Then again if i had joe northerner tearing up my place weekend after weekend i would feel the same way.
My son and three friends went down to Florida for a week. I sat them down and told them, 'look kids they see you every weekend'. Dont do anything stupid.
One got drunk and stole a pair of sunglasses for 12 dollars[very out of character for him], he gets locked up. Another gets jumped walking around a bad part of town.
Thank god my son listened.
I wouldnt want a bunch of drunk kids storming my town every year either.
But where not all like that.
The north south civil war bs is just that and shouldnt be brought up anymore.
Its the white persons race card against other whites as it where and we are all above that.:)

The Party atmosphere that comes with the Spring-Breakers does not bother us as much as the NYC retirees who buy a house here and then vote for income taxes, for on-demand abortions, higher property taxes and more welfare spending on Illegals. They also vote absentee in New York too.

Somehow they aren't smart enough to realize that this is what they moved here to get away from and still do every thing they can to promote more unions with Teachers/Government. They also want NFL and NBA [which doubled Jax's murder rate]. They seem to us like a dog who constantly craps where ever he sleeps and leaves it for others to clean up.

That is why we think they aren't too smart...
