frigidaire refig. / freezer on top. I do commercial a.c. and never got to work on home refrig. Anyway, freezer workin ok, frig. sweating and not cooling that good at all. How is the air damper from the freezer controlled? is that something that should be looked at? like I said, freezer air is normal, not much at all into frig. though.

The primary reason for a poor food section tempature is the freezer evaporator is blocked or partially blocked with a ice build up from a defrost failure.

Take the freezer section tempature if it is 10-20 degrees it will freeze water and seem ok but not be.

Please give me a model number and I can tell you how your food section control works. Most but not all of them are simply a flapper style mecanical damper that controls the air flow from the freezer.

Most likely an ice-up in the air duct if it's not an electronic model.

I'll get info for ya. Frig section had alot of moisture, and I asked him to check mullion heater section for warmth. He said it was cool, but i know not all units have mh's.

Moisture in the mullion and top panel area indicates a ice build up in the freezer-Either failing to defrost or defrost water not draining. Either way it is a freezer problem.

Most modern refrigerators have a condensor pass that heats the mullion-cold temp indicates no heat load and not doing much heat removal as a result of poor air flow.

We will educate you on domestic-Get me the model number and we will get you more info.

This model has a mechanical damper that controls the air flow from the freezer. Based on the info you have given me then there has to be ice in that duct blocking the air flow from a stopped up drain.

Look under the evaporator where the water drains and see if the drain pan is iced up from not draining-The ice has backed up into the duct from not draining-Thats my best guess-Good luck.

Set the controls to the midrange, maxing them out is a mistake. No frost buildup in feezer as in you peeked in there or as in you took the cover off the evap and looked at the coil, air chute and drain? You do hvac work right? Now don't get upset but you know the value of taking readings, right? Soo..., what is the temp in the freezer section and what is the temp in the fresh food section?

sounds like a plan. Is there any link you can provide that can direct me in the best way to access the evap section. (front, back etc)

lol no offense taken. Im not at the unit right now. So Im basically goin by what my DADS tellin me its doin!! lol I just want the game plan for when I do get there. I dont doubt myself at all. But its also not a rooftop split/ package, heatpump, etc that I work with daily. I dont wanna go rippin his fridge apart for something I can access with a screw in the back. lol:)

I did tellem to set the temps to normal. Whether it was done or not remains to be seen. They just see the food is stayin frozen in the freezer with those settings so thats all they care about for the time being.

You can see a parts breakdown here. The end of your model # is a zero not letter O. You'll be amazed at how simple it is. There will be a tech sheet on the box as well. If you find it frosted up, don't defrost it. Do your tesing with the defrost termination switch cold. Also, when you're done the defrost heater will not produce enough heat to melt down a frost buildup. You'll need to GENTLY use a hair dryer or heat gun or let it sit unplugged overnight, doors open.
