How not to test output temp

So our most educated tech who's about to graduate with his HVAC degree.
He's checking output at the vane of a mini split evap. Customer is standing right behind him.
Whoops, sticks the probe in way to far, next thing you know black pieces of the line fan are shooting out into the room.

A little humility is good for the young lads, eh?

Heck, I still do that. Dumbness is forever , it seems. Hope he doesn't have to pull our the fan and replace it. Then he will find out what he is made of!

Now - in a straight face the tech could turn and say that it appears you need a new fan blade - this one failed the test
