variable speed blowers worth it?

Just moved into a new house. builders grade nordyne system with single speed blowers. SEER 13. installed offered to replace both single speed blowers with a variable speed blower saying increase to SEER 14. cost is $ each blower plus $ for a top of the line honeywell thermostate.

Is this worth it? what benefit will I get?

I run the blowers 24/7 and the system is fairly loud with air noise.

The variable speed blowers can run at a slower speed when run 24/7, decreasing the air noise.

Having a VS blower would facilitate several things which are useful for humidity removal and/or energy efficiency. As a homeowner I would do it.

OK, sorry did nto realize no prices are allowed. But what benefit will I see if I replace the fixed speed blower on a new Gibson unit with the variable speed blower package? I have two units. I'm looking for % electrical savings, better temp distribution, etc

I'm a home owner and had a variable speed blower with my new heat pump last July. The difference in noise is incredible, in fact I went to the basement to see if the blower was running at first. LOL

It helps with humidity reduction by running low speed and keeps the indoor temp fairly even (I only run the fan on auto).

I have a Goodman GMV with heat pump and the variable speed fan is great! It ramps up smoothly and offers the benefits previously mentioned and also if your thermostat supports it it can have programmable fan instead of continuous "on" that will run the fan for X min. out of an hour slowly enough that you will hardly notice it, but enough that the air will not stratify and be stagnant.
This one feature is almost worth the price of admission. With the other features i think that it is a no brainer, cost savings be d---ed.
