Should a 2 stage cool system with variable speed running in stage 1 be blowing a slower speed? Mine seems to be blowing at the same volume however you can just tell the temperature is different on the different stages. Is this normal? Also, mine seems to run for a very long time in stage 1. Is it found to be more efficient to run for long periods of time in stage 1 then shorter periods in stage 2? I'm wondering if this thermostat the technician installed is a quality product. Anyone have any suggestions on a good quality multistage thermostat. I'm assuming this is ok to ask since it isn't traditional HVAC equipment. Thanks in advance

It should have long run times in first stage.

The blower should slow down/move less air in first stage.

What thermostat do you have.

I was wondering since it was variable why it seemed to blow the same. Thermo is a White Rodgers 80 series, 1F85-275.

Thats a 2 stage stat.

You'll need to call them back and have them check their wiring, and to see if they have it set up right.
