I trying to decide on a new furnace. i want it to run 24/7 for air cleaner. my question is how do i tell from the spec sheet if it has a dc or a ac motor. will a 2 stage have a dc or just the var speed units?

No not all furnaces have a variable DC brushless motor. There are still Ac motor on 2 stage furnaces. The 3.0 GE motor is nice.

Even some non-variable speed furnaces have ecm motors, be careful.

The brochure will tell you if it has a VS blower or not.
