I installed a 5 ton goodman 13 seer heat pump in a 1,900sqft apartment building, there are also basement apartments totaling 1,900sqft. This is in south central Kentucky. central stat with remote sensor in upstairs apartment.

The basement apartments are freezing to death, and shuting off the vents I'm woirred about short cycling the unit.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Should have zoned it.

Basements never need as much cooling as a first floor.

I should rephrase, instead of any thoughts..... Since this unit is already installed.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what could help?

Thanks

You got advice. You need to zone it. Whether that be dampers and thermostats or you buying lots of smaller units. That is the fix. People all have different temperatures that they live with. I like my house kinda cool, but my helper likes his warmer.
