I live in South Florida and looking to replace my system which is 10 seer. My home is 1300 square feet under air. I am looking at the Trane XL20i or the York Affinity 8T. Price is not an issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It really comes down to the installation. If the unit you go with is installed correctly and properly serviced, you will be happy. Sometimes a bad unit does come out of the factory but not often, this is with any make or model.
Do not go on price, go on the recommendation of satisfied friends or neighbors.
I do very minimal advertising, yet I manage to stay busey because I insist on doing the job right and at a reasonible price and I back it up. find a contractor in your area who does the same, you'll be glad you did

I like the 50/100% staging of the 20i vs the 75-80% on low of the scrolls like the York. Couple the 20i with Trane's communicating system and you'll have quite the system. Accurate load calc, don't oversize even with 2 stage.

I know the company that is going to install it. They installed a couple of my friends. I spoke with the company. The difference right now is that the York is $ different than the XL20i. I hope I can say this in the forum. The question now is Trane worth the extra $$$$?
