Has any one ever used LON cable on and MSTP bus. We have three devices that we would like to hook up with some. The cable is already existing in the units with nothing else on the network.

If your system uses the 2 wire RS-485 you might be able to get away with it for a short distance with little bus travel. We had a subcontractor pull unshielded 22/3 one time and we had serious online/offline problems. When we called tech support they told us to rip out the wire and pull 22/3 shielded and we didn't have any problems after that. So take it at your own risk you might be ok or you might be pulling the wire anyway.

We've done it in the past and it worked well but..........and this is a big but, your labor is sooo much more expensive than a box of 22/3.
If you had to return to re-pull it due to issues, it's just safer to order up from Windy City Wire.

Well, keeop in mind it's only three controller.
The wire just got pulled in and it's not a hge run. The only issue is access (doctor's offices). Like I said, we'll give it a try. IF it doesn't work, then we'll re-pull. No big deal. If it were a long run and a bunch more then I might think twice.
