I have an NAE 45 that I cant connect to. I cycled power to it, uninstalled java, typed the NAE IP address into internet explorer and it grabbed what I believe is the right version on java. I can get to the logon screen but when I type the MetasysSysAgent password in it stops loading at 25% and then says "could not connect to server." Any ideas?

Try also clearing your internet and java cache. That solves alot of problems.

There is something going on with the DSL here. Its very slow and wont connect so I direct connected to it and it seems to be working fine. Also, how do I do a port b dump?

The NAE commissioning guide can be found on the JCI website. Search for Serial Port Monitor in the NAE commissioning guide.

Incorrect java version
Uninstall java and let the NAE provide the java file. Only if you have admin rights to the computer you are on.
Since you got to log on you can look at the help tab on the top and see what version of metasys it is.

The term "port b dump" is a little misleading. You have a NAE45 so you have to use port A in order to do a port B dump
You can use hyperterminal for the port dump
Use the following settings:
Data Bits - 8
Parity - No
Stop Bits - 1
Baud Rate - 115200
Flow Control - None

If the UI dumps you at 25% that means that the password is incorrect.
Someone logged in and changed the sysagent password.
Log in as basicsysagent.
