Went back to that 5 ton evap coil today. Took me over 6 hrs..... but I got it and its working correctly. Had the builders guy go in and rip out some of the back of the door frame. Was able to unsweat that 1 1/8 copper. Pulled the coil... put the TXV in.... put it all back in and IT WORKED! Was skeered I would mess up that TXV and have to redo it all again!
Only call I ran today but then I didnt get to the house till 5 till 10.

true true.... but then the Mart is a great no brainer job. Its nice to not have to think for a change. I actually spoke to the manager... he said he wanted to take me off the schedule (so he doesnt have to keep explaining to corporate why I didnt clock in) but I can come in whenever I want and work as much or as little as I want. Well, we got a call this week from Philly PD saying that my truck had been involved in an accident, and there was "HVAC stuff was all over the street."

I was sure the thing had been put into a crusher by now, but maybe the thief wanted a work van for himself.

So, now the truck is in an impound lot, and we will wait to hear what the insurance investigator says, whether they will consider it to be repairable or not. Then, we have to figure out how to see what's left inside it, and then reconcile that against the two excel sheets I made up of the contents, and go from there. I don't even have a picture of its current condition, but they said there was sideswipe damage, and front and rear bumper damage.

So, maybe I won't have to take as big a hit as I thought.


Oh, and get this: on the same day we got the call, one of the other guys got hit in the rear in a chain reaction crash.
