Just made my reservation for Nashville. Host hotel is slighly (Ok, very high) but I deserve a treat. I have all summer to save for it. Looking foward to repeat last year's learning opportunity.

Wow that's a little steep for today's economy. And I'm guessing that dosent include the hotel cost.

That sucks.

Fortunately, I haven't had to experience that. My techs are also still getting 40+ with no cuts.

Such as the life of a markettech..Comfortech is more for the hvac guy anyway not the R guy. Mabey things will turn around soon if not theirs always next year.

We totally enjoyed the St. Louis show even though we didn't do anything but the product showcase. Found some excellent info, new contacts and got to meet the h-talk team. Who could ask for more for free?!?!?! We're still considering the Nashville show even though it's a total day trip to get there and another back.

Did I mention I won a door prize? :p

Steam Humidifier from EWC.

Not a shabby door prize, none of them were. Heck, they even had a big-screen TV (that's what I was trying to win).

You'll have to ask Robo about the fun balls the J-Stone people were giving out :D

I've been to every Comfortech. If you include the Comfortech Road Shows, I've been to more of them than anyone at Penton.

This is the single best event in the industry. The seminars get better every year. CB tries really hard to get contractors to lead as many of the seminars as possible so that you're not listening to the same consultants pitching their $olution$. The people who speak at Comfortech have been there and have a closet full of t-shirts.

If the seminars are good, then so is the show. It's grown every year and has become the industry's premier residential/light commercial show. As big as the trade show has become, contractors still have the ability to visit all desired booths and talk with senior people. Moreover, you'll find unexpected ways to profit from the show through vendors you've never heard of, but who offer innovative products and services (hey, it's why they invest in a booth).

Maybe the best part of Comfortech is tangential to the seminars and show. It's the interaction you'll gain with peers from across the industry. When you attend, you get a chance to rub shoulders with the best contractors and consultants in the industry. If you've never been to Comfortech, you'll find the superstars in our industry are surprisingly approachable. Feel free to walk up to the guys you see featured on the cover of CB and ask them almost anything. I'd be shocked if anyone didn't take the time to answer you at length.

And, it's not all work. Like Vegas, what happens at Comfortech stays at Comfortech. Anyone who ever attended one of Charlie Greer's cigar parties knows what I'm talking about. It's also why all of these HVAC Talk admins who whip out digital cameras threaten the very nature Comfortech after hours (Not that I'm suggesting anything, but remember the Vegas commercial where the digital camera ends up in the swimming pool?).

Of course, the absolute best reason to attend HVAC Comfortech is that it is the only place you can get one of the Service Roundtable Comfortech t-shirts. Each year tops the previous and each year we run out. Last year, the theme was "Peace - Love - HVAC."

I'm open to ideas for 2009. If we pick yours, I'll save one for you, even if you don't make our hospitality party.
