I own a condo in a victorian house that is divided into 4 condo units...The windows are old and drafty and 8 ft long. Nothing standard seems to fit. I do have curtains up, shades that were specially made for 8 ft windows. My heat is set at 73 (I have been sick lately) and we are in the middle of a freezing spell (high tonight is -1) and my thermostat says it is 68 degrees (falling 1 degree in the last 2 hrs). I am afraid to turn the furnace up anymore..I think someone told me it would not help anyway. I have a gas furnace and baseboard heating. I need some advise..what can I do to make it warmer (besides putting my coat on)? Any advise much appreciated.

sounds like your heat anticipator needs to be adjusted in
your thermostat, or bad thermostat.
could be a number of things you need to call a tech

Thank you, Duke...do you think it will hurt anything to wait until Mon? The temp has not gone down again..still at 68

im not there fisically looking at your unit so I realy can't say Water limet could also be set to low on that
could be set to kick off at 140 Degrees and because's it colder then normual in your area your circulator pump is pumping that water through your baseboard but the unit is kicking off on the limit at 140
and its not enough to warm your house
or your anticipator could be set to low causing it to cycle off early.
could be a number of things, well its a weekend and I guess your stuck
what state are you in.
If you Have no choice but to waite the weekend I would keep a eye on it.
good luck

Thanks again, Duke..I am going to cover some of the windows today and see if that helps..it is 66 in here now, but I checked the baseboards, and they are producing heat...just need some extra clothes!
