Anyone serviced a kenmore chest freezer with the following symptoms:
Mod# 25316582102 2yrs old

1) temp. rise alarm going off

2) digital temperature located on center handle reading 78 degrees but temp. in freezer approx. 10 degrees.

I found compressor and refer levels fine. I determined the temp. sensor for the inside cabinet was faulty and called sears to replace the thermistor. The parts salesman said I had to replace the handle kit w/ the temp display and the new thermistor comes with it....I didnt think that was right but had my customer order it anyway.

Low and behold...when the parts came in there was no thermistor line in the handle kit and when my customer replaced the center handle assembly that also displayed the cabinet temp., it still read an untrue temp of 78 degrees.

Any suggestions whith this chest freezer.....how do I replace the thermistor????

Go to sears parts direct and put in the model number, the breakdown should show all available parts. Good luck.

That freezer was made by Frigidaire for Sears. I have the Electronic Freezer Service Manual. Shoot me an e mail. :)
