I know we have become real sensitive since we have elected a halfrican-American as president. With the thread about the Magic N#&r@ being closed and all, I am wondering if this news is PC enough either; http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?rn=3906861&cl=11375875&ch=4226713&src=news

So Robo, what happened with the other thread?
Did someone think the humor was meant to show the irony we saw with some of the uninformed voters choosing a man for his skin color or did everyone just start screaming racism? LOL:D:D:D

Someone supposedly complained, don't know exactly on what grounds. I was just worried about the use of the term spook in the same sentence as our new darker skinned leader:rolleyes:

Why would that be? Last time I checked nobody was banned for that other thread or this one. Of course if anyone wants to break the rules I'm sure it could be arranged.
What a fruitless thread this is.
On the other hand, my brother just watched Grand Torino and tells me it's a totally excellent movie. I'm planning on seeing it as soon as it's released around here.

This thread is very fruity!, thank you very much.
Just because Glenn misconstrued what it is and started all of that banning stuff doesn't mean it's not a fun and fruity thread.

Boy, going over several of the threads of late I'm beginning to wonder if the mods didn't have a meeting in the nude while sitting on ant hills:rolleyes:

We were fully clothed. No ant hill.
However, we did shove some swords into the effigies of a few members.

Whats wrong with the magic negro thread?
I figured that if it was ok for fox news, then it should be ok around here.
People that get sensitive to this stuff shouldn't watch the tele or use a computer, or read the paper.
I actually like the term...it evokes images of a little black leprechaun glee-ping through the forest..:D
I dont know why, but it does. lol:D

OK then, I'll whatever he's taking:p
I'm still upset over being taught in my youth to be respectful of "colored" people only to later be called a bigot for using the term "colored" instead of Black which was good for a decade or so until that became wrong and the really innacurate African-American term became the term that would not upset colored folks even though they are calling each other by the really nasty "N" word. I'm just confused is all.
Does the NAACP still stand for National Association for the Advancement of Colored People?
Funny also how "cracker, honky, whitey, redneck etc." never became terms that were banished for being offensive. Maybe Whitey just has a better sense of humor then negrocoloredblackafroamerican's do. Then again, Sly Stone and the Family dealt with this issue just fine; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B29DV9ly6DE&feature=related
This song was just fine being played on the airwaves and at dances in the 70s, but just try getting it played today.
It's such a shame that the racial coming together of the 70s were overcome with racial seperation by the media and allowed preferential treatments of only certain races. We have become a more bigoted society then we were before desegregation. The biggest difference is who the most prominant bigots are these days.

I'd have to agree with you Robo. Personally, in our region, black is still acceptable. Matter of fact, most blacks I know are offended by being called African American being as they were born here same as me. ;) We should all be known as Americans first and foremost. :p

Yes, I believe now is the Time for the Pillsbury doughboy to be baked in the commercials. Seriouly, how anyone could bring an innocent character as the Doughboy into the world of PC is sickening:rolleyes:

Well, the doughboy at least needs to put on some clothes. Isn't his appearance against several laws? :D

That's the way I see it. If we were born in the U.S. or on U.S. soil in a foreign country, we should think of ourselves foremost as Americans. I think of myself as American of Scots/Irish descent because I am interested in my European heritage.
