When the American people start looking past polarizing the political landscape and realizing that corruption transcends political parties and affiliations, maybe we will see some "real change".
It'll continue to be dysfunctional if everyone plays on one side or the other.

Vetting only goes so far when the lobbyists are entrenched. How about term limits for the Legislative branch? At least that way half of the equation would be removed.

Of course, the whole fiasco with Blagojevich probably made this that much harder to deal with. And, most likely pushed the eject button on Richardson's appointment.

18 days is rather fast especially when you subtract 4 for holidays and the take weekends into account
