hi, I had a house built for me last december and we moved in december 13th. We went on a short vacation and came back 4 days later to find the HVAC system had tripped off. We called the company and they came out, and the guy replaced a bunch of pieces in our unit in the attic. It worked good for about a week or so till it got a little colder. Our house would fall down to low 60's if it got to be less then 35 degrees F outside. We called the company the 2nd time and they came out, replaced the thermostat and it seemed to fix the problem. This winter rolled around and everything went well till the outside temperature got below 35 or 30 and then our house falls to ~ 60 degrees every night and if the temperature does not rise, our house will not heat up. We called the company about 2 weeks ago and he came out and filled the charge of our freon up in the system and also said our aux heating strips were not plugged in correctly. Well, the last couple of nights it has gotten down to 15-20 degrees outside and my house is freezing in the morning. I am going to call them again, but I was wondering if anybody had a suggestion as to what the problem is. I know the heat pump only works when it's not extremely cold outside, but I was thinking about trying to put a heat lamp out by my heat pump because at least that won't be as expensive as having to use emergency heat strips just to get my house back up to 70. HELP!
