Good post Boots. Not surprised at this. There are lots of "fake" holocaust stories around. When I was growing up there was a Jewish merchant who claimed that his mother was burned at the stake in a concentration camp. Just like there are folks who make up stories that they were something they were not.
Any reporter, publisher or talk show host has an obligation to vet any person's story before publicizing it. Apparently Oprah just thinks it sounds good and goes with it. Not very smart it shows she just acts on emotion and not on common sense, no surprise here.

The bil of rights is an impediment to any government intrusion into our lives.
I have seen both parties trample it when it suits them.
What was the last republican-backed nationwide gun control legislation?
In my opinion, we need to return to constitutional government. Sadly, neither party is leading us in that direction.
There is no motivator quite like hunger to wake a man up early and get him to work on time.

Well I figured the thin ice part since everyone with a title around here has a bad opinion of democrats""a bad opinion might be to strong of a statement lets just say that I would be very surprised if any voted for the dems."
If you all feel that I am nothing but a trouble maker with no valid input on any of the subjects feel free to boot me off.

The agenda comment probably has to do with Obama's 'say anything to get elected' campaigning and 'messiah' portrayals. Whether he actually carries out a socialist agenda is to be determined. With a team of ex-Clintonites he appears to be moving toward the middle and will thus break many campaign promises. Time will tell what policies and leadership Obama offers; right now it's just marketing and speculation.

Homer you and lots of others are way to optimistic in my opinion. All this is just posturing before the fury that will break lose after he takes office. Figure on the military going way down along with morale, taxing everyone in the Middle Class and up to death, much bigger government in our lives, he will keep is promises and private assurances to the far left of the Democratic Party count on it.
After all he is definitely one of them with the most liberal voting record in the Senate. I just can't see how anyone can read different. I sure would like it to be different but mark my words wishful thinking by conservatives and moderates ain't going to stop what I'm sure is going to happen.

Really?
Did you mention how old you are.....? Just curious.
I have mentioned several times (not that some people notice) that I have voted for both Democrats and Republicans in my lifetime. I don't vote based upon political affiliation but upon what I see in a candidate.
I didn't vote for Obama. I couldn't stomach all the unexplained change we were to look forward to. All the promises that looked like the same ole' rhetoric wrapped up in a shiny new 'vote for me I'm a minority with a plan' no-plan gimmick.
But why do any of us explain anything at all to you? You do not listen. You got the music in your head and the kool-aid in your stomach. Anyone that doesn't agree with you is a Republican (regardless) and 'against you'.
Now, I'm not just putting that out there fella, that's what YOU are putting forth about yourself. If that's not the way you'd like to appear on this forum then don't.

Who has time to watch all that daytime tv stuff anyway? And, is that part of our country's problem? I mean, think about who is sitting at home day in and day out watching Oprah and the other garbage that's on during the workday. Not to mention all those 'judge somebody' shows. I caught one of them in the Dr.'s waiting room one day. Totally stupid! But, if people watch that kind of thing and believe it...maybe it explains a few things.

It is plain to me at least that the prevailing message being taught to our youth and adults goes something like: if you are to be accepted today then you must believe every politically correct line, statement, position, law,& opinion. Any other individual thought, idea, belief is "unacceptable" (to use a favorite word of narrowminded sheep) and must be fought with every thing from out and out lies, persecution and prosecution beginning with teachers and the media, ending with your next door neighbor.
