Portable Vacuum anyone

I was considering the Simoniz® Heavy-duty 16-pc Vacuum Kit. anyone used it ot have experience with it. I primarilly need it for Fireplace and furnace cleaning. Looks like a pretty compact portable little tool. What does everyone else use?

Everyone at work uses a dewalt corded/cordless model.

Ive used them before to clean up some messes.....they work ok... you can wash the filter cartridge and dry it a few times before it finally clogs up.

Dont use it much anymore except for cleaning the van.....does really good for that but it sucks batteries down pretty quick.

I was emptying out an auxillary drain pan a couple of years ago and the drain plug on the side of the dewalt came unscrewed just as I was taking it down from the ceiling.....dont know how it came undone..... but after that I siliconed it down as tight as I could get it...... There is also a little filter in the top part of the vacuum that will clog up fast.....you need to clean it regularly....

And if she quits dead on you there is a 15 amp automotive type fuse in the thing....she will blow...and you can change it..... We had several laying around the shop for months once and I started taking them home and cleaning them....changed the fuse in a couple of them and they are still ticking to my knowledge.

I have used my dewalt for a few fireplaces but it dose not have the capacity if you are looking at sucking out the lazy man ash shoots. There is one specifictly made for ash cleanup but i dont remember the name seen one in action used by a fireplace specalist it had some sort of water filter setup like some of the drywall vacs do.
