I am working on a manitowoc with remote condensing unit, sitting on top a walk in cooler.model of head is s-2170c.the system drops into a walk-in with a sight-built bin...built by owner.I've got the cooler running down to 33*to keep kegs cool.I used a johnson t-stat with the bulb in the ice model # 819abc-24c to shut down ice machine. Is there a better control for this situation?Any input is much appreciated! Thanks

I had a customer that we did this for in their fish coolers. We had trouble as the box temp was too close to the ice temp and it was finicky to set up.
We replaced the stats with photo eyes and had no call backs.
There are a few different styles. The ones with a sender and receiver were the best but most costly. There are other styles that uses a reflector instead of a reciever that work well and are a little cheaper.
You may need to add a pilot relay as allot of these switches have a low amperage rating.

I use mostly Allen Bradley but there are lots of others that should work fine
Good luck!
