just installed my first lennox g71 and i have a question. it fires up but the flames are bright yellow and there's very little blue in flame. supply temp does not go above 111 deg. even in high fire. return temp was 62 deg. furnace was converted to propane via gas valve and orfice changes. inlet pressure on valve was 11 in. w.c. outlet in low fire was below 1 in. w.c. med fire it was 2 in w.c. and high fire 5in w.c. these pressures are low but i can't adjust the valve. i guess my question is, shouldn't i have a higher supply temp. ?

check ot see that the orifices are the right size for your altitude, temp rise on that unit is 45-70 degrees your at 49 i wouldnt be as concerned over the temp rise but more so on the flames temp rise will get better as the flames get more blue not burning completly will lead to heat xchanger probs down the road

yeah i checked the orifice size that came with the propane kit. they were .055 and thats what the service manual said they should be. i even changed the propane valve b/c i had a second for the upstairs unit that still has to be changed out, and nothing changed.

did you get the 11 wc with the unit running or sitting idle, its possible that the regulator for the house is not set up right, most of them are factory preset at 75k btu of consumption and have to be adjusted to meet the load of the house, may need to get the propane co involved

very possible, but if its causing flame problems i wouldnt think that the pressure switch would close and allow the unit to come on what kind of set up do you have

finally found that one of the 2 high press. switches was the wrong switch. came from the factory that way. the only way i found in was by going over the second floor g71 and comparing it to the first floor unit. the unit came with a 0.6 in. WC and it should have been a 1.25 in. wc. ughhhhhhhh anyone else have this happen to them on a lennox? going to check friday to see what unit this switch should have been on and how it got on my g71. all is now well and customer is happy.

Most of the picture files we get are difficult for us to open and view. Emailed is best, faxed is second best. Hand delivered with a bag of cash is the most expedient.
