Does the fireplace have a keyed shutoff in the floor within 3 feet?
Lots of pipe dope I see.

Floor valves arent required in my county, just a shut off, there is one easily accessible in the box itself. Yeah i d rather have too much pipe dope than not enough.

Its a good thing...I prefer rigid black pipe over the flexible Trac pipe. I just cant bring myself to trust in it....although I have used it in the past.

I only use CSST in them hard to get to places

Get yourself a rag and wipe off all that excess dope next time.
Looks like someone goofed on the measurements...a coupling with a close nipple?

Whats up w/ the cross-overs in the 2nd pic? Instead of have one line pitching down to go under the other, why not point the tee down and go under, keeping everything level.
Why no drip leg on the riser going up?
Why a union on the dryer line in the crawl?
Not trying to break stones, just some constructive criticism.
On a scale of 1-10....7-1/2.
Whats up with all the nipples and couplings?
It must have been a pita crawling back and fourth with cut pieces....or is that why you just used a bunch of different sised nipples?

In Pic 4 what is the tee with the plug in it, that would not fly here. Would need to be a nipple and a cap.

Pipe dope dose not seal the joint! Pipe dope has only one purpose and that is to lubricate the fitting so you can screw it together tight. The mating of the two threaded surfaces makes the seal. See if you can find the dark grey type pipe dope, once you use that you will not want to use the white or yellow junk ever again.
And check the drip leg thing mentioned above.
Still, good job. Had to suck working down there on your back.

The only stuff I use is rectorseal's "true blue".

It's tuff running pipe under houses. It looks good. As well there are a few things I would have done different.
I have used all different brands of pipe dope, they, all work well. It is a lubricant, but so is oil, try using oil to seal a joint.

Where?
It had to be reduced?
too much pipe dope?
I say it looks fine ,works fine, safe checked with soap.
Gimme a break u guys can pick apart length of blackpipe
Could have done without the unions but otherwise fine
Lash whats the smallest nipples you cut before using premade nipple?

Look at where the pipe is .
its not visible to public nothing.
too much dope sheesh aye ya aye
its not visible to public nothing.
So just because something isn't visible to 'public' makes it o.k. not to make it look good?

csst would have worked great in that situation. But you used black pipe and that is respectable. Looks good, holds pressure, and as long as you know you did your best.

Leaving the soap bubbles is bad because it is corrosive. You are supposed to flush clean with water and wipe off. Also it only takes a minute to wipe a joint of the sealant, there is no excuse.

the Scrubs in a bucket does wonders to clean pipe dope. I always clean all my joints and the pipe just makes it look so much nicer....

Next time consider using pipe hangers instead of plastic strap. That wouldn't make it here. Plastic will break and pipe will sag.

if boss man saw your work, he would have had me go back and re do it. I think you would have been shop slave (guess you cant use the B-word on the forums) for 6 months. Working commercial costumer sees maybe %1 of our work but it is all hung level strait clean and looks very pretty even if its going to be covered up. Run it like someone IS going to see it and the quality of your work over all in all aspects of HVAC will go up
