Im just tryin to get a general idea on what is better to use to test static pressure. A lot of the old timers in my company swear by magnahelics but us newer guys like the digital testers, i own two magnahelics and a uei digital manometer. Any opinions on what is best??

I have a Dwyer 460 also. Use it for draft readings.

Seems to be that the testo is the favorite of the site, but as i said in another forum i have two UEI products, the DL389 clamp meter, and the DM200 digital manometer, neither have let me down so far, the clamp meter is used every day, ive only used the manometer a couple times, my buddy has a testo and we compared the two on my home air system, they were really close in readings, so i dont know which is better. Imo they are the same.

Why don't you use the manometer daily?

I am an up and comming commercial tech but i also help out other techs, dont always have the use, a lot of stuff we work on already has a contol system to tell us that detail, but i do use it to check pressures for gas valves.

Have you ever compared them to a digital? Have you ever had them cal checked?
Same labs cal check my digital and mechanical.
Guess to each their own.

the correct method is the best. looks to me like you already have the tools. are you applying them properly?
also a couple dwyer A-303 static tips would compliment both instruments well ;)

Something to keep in mind is accuracy AND full range.
Mags (Magnehelics) have an accuracy of 2% on 1" WC. thus your reading could be of +/- .02" WC of reading.
If you get a digital, check the full range. we have one that is .5% accuracy, but if you get the 10" range, you could be off +/- .05"wc., if you get the 1" range, you could be off only .005" wc.
So to tell which is actually more accurate, check full range and accuracy.
