I am so friggen sick of buy this type of screwdriver. I like them because they have the nut drivers on them as well as the different heads for screw drivers. But I can not find on that does not round out the nut driver portion. Any of you bought one that lasts?

Try snap on maybe, they last forever. I get the same deal, I either loose the pieces or they round out.

4 in 1, 6 in 1, 7 in 1. JUNK!

Gave up on that a long time ago. Same reason.

I carry one and use it as a 4-in-1.
.

The impact driver does the rest.

I have been considering giving up on the 4 in 1 concept entirely, it never seems to have the right size straight blade that I need. Too wide, too thick, too narrow, too thin.

As is often the case with universal parts or tools, they are seldom a good fit.

I keep my 1/4" and 5/16" magnetic nut runners in my pocket and use them in the 8 in 1. It keeps them from rounding out.

Carry this in my back pocket. 1/4 and 5/16 magnetic bits in my front pocket.

Good for everything except high torque. Not much I can't open with this screwdriver.

I call it "The Worlds Greatest Screwdriver"

Cost $3 to $6. Look for them at Wal Mart, Sherwin Williams, and other paint stores.

Light weight and electrically rated.

I use them and file the end when they round out to extend the life of them. I also keep my nutdrivers handy and save my 6-in-1 for those jobs when there is a long walk, or crawl, to the unit.

If that 9 in 1 came with a belt holder I could do most calls with that and my led mini mag light and my gerber multi tool. Those on my belt and my Fluke 902 and I would be all set.

Nah they all suck in my book! If you want some good nutdrivers malco is the brand! There 5/16 fits in contactors! makes it so easy to change one or work on it.

It has been the best one I've used so far.

I was sceptical of the 1/4 sleeve but it has worked for me and you get 4 to wear out :p

The Klein 32500 is awesome. It's 11 in one. Really beefy and torx and square drives, 1/4", 5/16", 3/8" drives and of course 2 sizes of flat and phillps tips. Less than 12 bucks at Home Cheapo.

I have both.

They both have the same features.

The Irwin IMO is better made. Oh though one time the middle part came loose, you know the part when you go to flip it the whole thing comes out. Aside from that one time issue the Irwin is a heartier tool.

I have had many Klein 6 in 1 and 10 in 1 have not had the 11 in 1. in comparison the the 6 and 10 in 1 kleins to the irwin the irwin is a tool the klein is a toy. have been using the same irwin for almost a year and a half and it has not started to round out or fall apart. Its longevity may be parshaly to blame becuse my next favorite tool is my I-driver.

I must say I think the wife has found a good use for one of my old klein 6-in1 she uses it change the batterys in the kids toys:D

I dont think they were ever really designed to be used as nut drivers. The older ones usually came with a 1/4 inch drive......then someone fiqured you could use the 5/16 drive on their ....and then both...... so they sort of evolved.....

The barrels are cheap metal and they are thin so they are not going to last long...especially removing stubborn screws.....

Handy just for convienience...... I have several.... but I also use my hand nutdrivers for hex head screws far more than the screwdriver......

As you can tell by the name i am a klein tool fanatic. But ive had a lennox 9 in one for about three years now and have never rounded off a head. It has 1/4 inch, 5/16 and 3/8 nut drivers. It really comes in handy, they can be purchased from ferguson supply.

as others have said, the Irwin 9 in 1 is good. the outer walls of the nut driver portion is thick and beefy. unlike the Kline that is thin and weak that will start to bend then strip out until it is rounded.

I hate goofy grips

The grip on all the Klein drivers are great IMO

Try the Lenox 6-in-1 or the 9-in-1. These things come with steel plates inside them so you can basically use them as a chisel if you want. Much stronger tool than Kleins.

I have the Irwin and the Klien . I like to keep the Klien in my meter bag as it seems to fit far better into the tighter spaces for the electrical parts like boards, contactors and such. These parts require better fit more then beefy strength like the Irwin. I agree the Irwin or Lenox are better for carrying around alone and say opening up units. My one boss will only buy the guys the $1.99 6/1 screwdrivers from Menards that have the blaze orange handles. The guys went from losing them every day to every other day. LOL We all know that they strip out, but at that price they get bought buy the dozen/ or two and they guys use the flat head and phillup head bits in their drills. Most of them carry their 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 and 7/16 hex bits in their pockets and insert them into the 1/4 inch shaft to use as a nut driver. They don/t have the stripping problem then and they enjoy the bit ends being magnetic. I just carry my extended shaft magnetic tip nut drivers in my bag for when I want them.
