Hi guys it's been awhile since I popped in here. I hope all is well with everyone.

My question is this; Is it worth my time and effort to modify my H.P.'s outside unit to water cooled/heated?

What I got is a byrant M# 662cj042-b outside unit. It is rated at 38.5 btu/cool, 36 btu/heat. 23.2 amps/240vlt, 12SEER.

I have a 13,000 gal in ground swimming pool that has a water cooled condser used to heat pool. the pool temp is aprox 90 summer/ 60 winter. The swimming pool pump is a 1hp 3450 rpm 14.5A/110vlt motor

What I am thinking of doing is elimanating the pool heater and piping my A/C units outside coil in series with the pool heaters plate exchanger. In essence I would be building an A/C unit with water reclaim. Where I get hung up is not how to do it but is it worth it. If someone could possibly explain the formulas to me or provide me a link that explains them, it would be very appriciated.

The end results of pool tempature water is pretty irrelivant other then I dont want to scold people if they try to use the pool in the summer and I dont want to freeze my lines in the winter. I dont think either are really possible but I do want to be sure and if I need to I will pipe in a bypass to prevent that from occuring.

I know that if I do this I am going to create a more consistent condensing temp and lower my compression ratio. My Seer rating is going to increase. I also will have to run my pool pump probably 24hrs a day instead of the normal 4-6hrs I presently run it. So the question for me is the amount of electric I save on my A/C enough to justify the extra run time on my swimming pool pump.

I dont have the heat pump data as far the BTU,s per hr of the plate exchanger but ill research it and provide if data is needed. I can tell you this much about it. It has an 1 1/2"water line piped through it. I am also wondering if it would be smart to add a recirc pump with a lower amp draw to run when the regular pump is not needed.

Thanks in advance for any and all help any of you can give me with this one.
