Temperature before filter 77 degrees, after filter 65 degrees. Is it possible for this restriction to be at startup only? Compressor slugs at startup as well. Took temps later and they were close to the same. Its getting a little warmer outside if that would make any difference.

ask the filter company for details, they may give you some data if your filter got restricted(according to the pressure and temp drop)

exactly! this is one of the easiest ways to detect a restricted filter is at startup. the sudden pressure diff. at start up tells u the condition of the filter. if the temp settles down it will most likley be ok

What temp are you refering to? So check temperature before and after filter right at start up will tell me if the filter has a restriction??

i would expect a slight temp diff suddenly at start-up and the temp being the actual temp of the liquid line. yours sounds OK
