for copper to steel ( compressor connection )what do you use ,15% or 45% ?

Flux coated 45% It's orange rod.

On bigger O.D.'s I lean towards 15%
and use 45% on the smaller stuff.
Use whatever your better at ;)

the biggest consern on a compresor connection is vibration the higher the silver content the more flexible the joint will be. I would sugest harris 45 it is a blue flux coted brazing rod.

I use the 45% in the roll with harris white flux in a bottle.

most likly the brand harris 45 is a blue flux rod easy flow 45 is a non fluxed roll that you use stay-silv white past flux with. I do not know who makes the orange flux (maby sunkist :p)

I use 15% with white flux but the soilder joint has to be clean.

45% harris with stay silv white paste, very clean tight joints, have fixed leaks between compressor body/pipe stub, can braze any steel to steel with that to..
