UNT 121
I landed another JCI temp sensor at AI 6
I want the point to be visible on the N2 bus for global use
In HVAC Pro I renamed it , "roomtmp" and configured the point
I "saved as "the file
downloaded the new cfg. file.
When I uploaded the controller the point is still shown as AI-6
In commission mode it also shows up as AI-6 and a value of ???? .
All my BO's are in use so I can not incude it in a sideloop
without
distrubing any outputs.
Thank you

Did you unhook from the controller and cycled power to the controller, and are you using PMI or MSEA?
Do you have the HVACPRO users guide?

What kind of sensor is it. ??? in commissioning mode means that the sensor is bad or there is a problem with the wiring or configuration. How is the AI setup? I beleive the dip switches for AI-6 default to 0-10VDC configuration. That could be your problem.

Remember to change the dip switch settings to match the AI....Also, if you set the switches with power on, REMEMBER to cycle power or the UNT will not see the change.
If you want the name to show, change the long name and short name in hvacpro and then re-download

I changed the long name and short name in hvacpro and then re-downloaded.
I also changed long and short names for two
existing points , the new names did not show up either.

If you upload the controller, you will not get any names of points that you define. The UNT dosen't have enough memory to store user defined point names. Based on the fact that you see AI-6 when you upload the controller, tells me that the point is in the program and the UNT sees it as a valid point. I'm still thinking dip switch or maybe a wiring issue. Do you have a server that I can upload a file to you? It is a help file that has bailed my sorry butt out of trouble. It is 95mb which is way too big to e-mail. Good luck.:)

Are you going to "map" this back to a front end?
Kind of weird - have that happen allot...a bug with ver? or memory thing, might have to live with AI-6...can name it at front end!

Forgot are you "uploading" and checking read from file or just uploading controller...that might make a difference...you wont see the point AI-6 name...

The naming problem is not a problem. Thats how all points not used by the QA will look after a upload. If you commission with a config that you have renamed the point previously from file you will see it. Just uploading it you will not. If your changes did not take hold the AI would say "not used" instead of AI-6.
As far as it being unreliable(????)..as previously stated its a dip switch, wiring, or sensor problem,
So basically if you were asking if the naming and (?????) are related somehow...NO they are not.
