We bought a Testo 417 rotating vane anemometer today. Can anyone tell me how far off the register the instrument should be held to obtain an accurate reading?

when all esle fails...

read the instruction manual.

i dunno.. aren't all vane anemometers supposed to be right at the grill (register)

We usually wait till we break something before reading the instruction manual, but in this case we have read the manual first and it does not say. Readings change on how many inches away you are from register.

Do you have to go all the way to Paris to do this?
