Ok I understand that we went in and overthrew a suspected terrorist dictator, but my confusion is.......WHY are we wasting billions of dollars trying to get a country that by now is obviously totely incompetent in its ability to agree to gvern itself let alone secure it's citizens.

I am sick and tired of my tax dollars going to freeing other countries and then they want us to then pay to rebuild their country cause they were ignorant enough to allow a terrorist type state in the first place:confused:

Ok now my view in perspective is WE the United States of America the "Great Satan" has threw away more money in over sea aid and military help than ANY other country on this planet PERIOD!

BUT it's ok! you can run your half assed country the way you want and we will bail you out again! "We love you!"

But thats fine! we ARE evil! We don't care! Do you need more money?

I'm bitter YES! cut off ALL foriegn aid! and withdraw ALL our troops and then close the borders!

No more immigrants being naturalized and absolutely NO financial aid to ANY county AT ALL for five years and I GAURANTEE within 1 week of that anouncement ALOT of countries will start to see the light.

We live in one of the youngest countries on this planet but due to our values we live in a country that WILL by our very values continue in one way or another FOREVER!

That value is simply Freedom.

Contridictory? in my comments? yes! Iraq, Afganistan? 51st and 52nd state!

Why not?

and we spend all the money on those places because we went to kick azz with a compliment :p

besides, the attack was aimed for a couple thugs that ended up being a bunch of idiots that are willing to blow themselves up on the side of a road.

A true gov. that can be self sufficient has to have many sectors that are strong and stable. Stable depends on the size of the state. Please see:

Next will be SE Asia. If we don't want to see our utter demise you can count on that. China was the first in cheap labor. You can count on the domino effect using Africa and other third world countries. The thriving nations will have to equalize per free world trade leaving economies solely based on cheapest goods continually building the lowest of the low 3rd world nations each time that can provide either good or services.

If we do not fix out trade taxes and policies we are going to die off even faster.

Presence is everything, during the cold war we were in Europe. When the USSR was the power that we were concerned about we had assets in Europe, the Mediterranean, Alaska and Canada. In essence we had the USSR surrounded with military assets in order to suppress the threat.

As long as we have a territorial threat in the Middle East it benefits us to have military assets in the theatre. Iran and to a lesser extent (but increasing) Russia, require that we need to have a strong presence to contain or at least stifle the desires of these maniacs. If we have no presence then Iran and Russia would run over their neighbors and control the remainder of the world with a stranglehold on the petroleum supply lines.

When you complain about the money we spend consider what we spent on the cold war when we maintained two Corps just in Europe.

Yes we are spending money to be Iraq but when adjusted for inflation are we really spending more than we did yearly on the cold war. It cost to have and maintain a standing military force. It is also very unfortunate that we lose fine honorable young men and women to death and serious injuries.

Freedom and having a safe living environment at home takes sacrifice and commitment, we are just fortunate that this country has young men and women that see the need and are willing to put their lives at stake for the sake of their country.

In a perfect world, it would be entertaining to see capitalism come into play.

You have bad guys in a rogue nation.

Some type of incident happens to draw our attention and ill will. You throw the most well equipped and trained military assets against said rogue nation, stomp it all to hell, kill all the bad guys, destroy their infrastructure, and leave behind only the mourning innocents.

Then our private enterprise takes over with the ability to rebuild said rogue nation, for a profit.

Countries would think twice about pissing us off in the future. Kind of like what happened after WWll :D
