In spite of the media hype, it wasn't. The total numbers were lest than in '04. Obama did somewhat better than Kerry, but the real change is that McCain's soldiers didn't show up for battle.
2008
Obama 63,685,576
Mccain 56,280,668
Total 119,966,244
2004
Bush 62,040,610
Kerry 59,028,444
Total 121,069,054

Yeah but Bush didn't have illegals and ineligible voters voting for him or those with no picture IDs in some states voting for someone else who didn't go vote. It is wide spread in the Democratic get out the vote campaign along with the criminal organization called Acorn.

heh we are to blame, we stood by and let the mainstream media, hollywood and the latenite shows blame everything on Bush, when it was the Clinton administrations HUD Secretary who is to blame for the Frannie Mae Freddie Mac economic disaster.
We didn't do enough to back up our President, it's our fault and we are the ones who will have to pay.
Here we go for the peanut picker Jimmeh Carters second term, hang on folks this could be a rough ride..........remember...Jimmeh, hands down the absolute worst president we ever had, and still a ranking a$$hole.........

Historically, there were plenty more pinheads with their hands out voting this time around.

Ah, but how is anyone giving an overall count of eligible voters when there are so many provisional voters waiting on a determination? You do realize that is why Missouri isn't in the 'final' column yet? Heard tonight that there are 7500+ provisional votes to be determined and since the margin of difference between Obama and McCain is less than that, the state can't be put in either column.
How re-ducking-fickulous!
Provisional equal....I didn't register correctly! UNNNNHHHH!! No vote for you!

Where did you find them? And, I'm assuming that's TOTAL for all candidates? Kfridge was just reporting the two party candidates which wiki shows as
Bush 62,040,610
Kerry 59,028,444 for 2004 (a total of 121,069,054)
CNN currently shows
Obama 63,924,258
McCain 56,428,249 for 2008 (a total of 120,352,507)
As I previously stated though, Missouri isn't 'reported' yet for either candidate.

If we had huge voter turnouts like this one in the past, we may not be in the financial situation that were in now.
Business wise, I'm way off mark from my other 21 years in business. Hopefully it wont get much worse for everyone and start to recover by 09.
