Just ran across this, not that it means anything anymore, but never the less interesting.

Btw when looking at the chart, look at the numbers up front, cause it skews the results.

It really has nothing to do with smart or dumb, it has to do with perception, how the world percives us.

Wow. It's good to know that 85% of the world is happy but only 53% 0f Americans are happy. What a freakin' accomplishment.

This is one that I understand completely....
Of course every OTHER country wants Obama to be OUR president...
Otherwise they might have to worry about what a strong America might do...
Now, they feel better with Obama as president...they won't have to worry about America being the greatest nation on earth anymore.
IOW - whats best for America may not be best for the rest of the world

What ya'll think??

Precisely. That is the typical liberal desire...not to improve one's personal lot but to bring down everybody else.

This country has been heading in the wrong direction for a long time. Now we can blame it to whomever we please, but the unltimate blame is on us. We are suppose to, via our constitution, control what our goverment does in our name.

How many times have we interfered with countries, not because they were a treat, but because we had powerfull commercial and military industries wanting to extract what doesnt belong to them, instead of doing commerce with them, as we would want others to do commerce with us.

Why is it that we put up with a private, worldwide banking cartel, that with usury puts us in monetary bondage to them. Its very difficult to claim to put others houses in order, when we havent been able to do it ourselfs.

We have been told what needs to be done, but due to a media thats controlled by a few moguls, those who have adviced us, have been ridiculed and marginalized, and we have taken the bait, hook line and sinker.

You cant fight such interests, as long as we are so divided. All one has to do is look in this forum, 75% of the time, we cant even agree what our constitution means. We need to reduce the federal goverment to a condtition where it only does what we at the state, county and city level cant do. Our federal goverment has overstepped its bounds, because we have let it so happen.

We have met the enemy, and the enemy is us.

Sadly it is what it is and even sadder that we have let it get this far out of hand. We have let ourselves get to the point that the only way we can get back to the original values of this country and for it to be governed by the Constitution the way it was supposed to be, is by another Civil War. Race, color, and creed will not matter in this one but ideals will.

I try to not miss voting when we do, there are way too many Americans that gave their life for us to have their privilige. But lets face it the entrenched "career politicians" aren't going to go away no matter who we vote for, a working middle class man doesnt stand a chance, what else can we do?

That's why "the world" is in the shape it's in and we've been running rings around them since our inception. If "the world" could vote, we'd be Bangledesh........

In the less than 300 yrs. this country has existed, we have done more to advance civilization than the rest of the world combined. Countries that have been in existance for thousands of years are still fighting diseases that are virtually unknown to us anymore. We have the highest standard of living than anywhere. Even our "poor" would be wealthy in many places. We've gone to the moon while countries still try to feed themselves. That is not an accident. That is due to freedom, which is getting harder to find everyday. Light bulbs to blue jeans, you name it. We set the standard. Why is it that no one is breaking down the wall to get into China, Russia, Cuba, etc.? I think it is obvious to most.

Unfortunately every time the majority of the people speak, ie. opposition to the bailout and the desire to secure our borders, those we put in power vote against the will of the people for political or personal gain. We throw out one bunch of corrupt pols and get another. That said, this is still the best country in the world to live, work and play and I won't give up on her stay involved in the political process.

Roymost of the article is true, however, the Americans at oak ridge were savvy enough to invent our own technology, jets were invented by americans, even the stutka dive bomber was an american invention, as were machine guns among other things

What are you smoking ace? Germany built the first fighter jet, the first rocket, the first heat round, the first sabot round, they built the forerunner to the AK47, and our M60 MG was patterned after their MG42 and our B2 bomber was patterned after their prototype which was developed at the end of the war and it could have flown to NYC and back. We have it in the Smithsonian. There's lots more but I don't have the time to go into it. Thank you very much.

they might have built the first fighter jet , but not the jet engine. England and the US both had prototypes

I think Americans are smart people. Who here is qualified to say that Americans voted wrong? Who here is way smarter or more qualified to vote or whatever?

Obama won. Different people have different political opinions. But to call the will, the vote, of the American people stupid, mistaken or wrong is um . . .

unpatriotic if you ask me. Why have a democracy if the vote is "wrong"? The people spoke, and nobody's opinion is higher than another's when it comes to democracy.

Focko

And I will add to that, I think we had two very different candidates, but two good candidates. It was up to the American people to decide who was to be prez, and we decided, whether you like the decision or not.

I don't need to read any more crap about jet engines. Nobody perfected and put into practical use, anything, like we did. We ran rings around the rest of the world in short order. You can nit-pick about details till you're blue in the face. America brought this world out of the dark ages.
We showed the world what is possible with freedom in less than 250 yrs. That cannot be denied. Now the soft generation, fat, lazy and clueless, fed by democratic gimme programs and lack of useful education, are purged to pi$$ away the country so many worked and died for.
