Hi
As you can tell I am not very familiar with the line of FX controllers. Just haven't had the time to work with FX yet But, would like to start. Which FX Controller is Equal to a DX9100 in Programming Flexibility & Available Point Expansion

Go with an FX15 or FX16. The I/O is similar, however the FX only has 6 AI's. You can use expansion modules for additional I/O.

All of the FX controllers are FAR more flexible than the dx9100 as far as programming but none of the FX's have comparable I/O without expanding. The FX-15 will work with dx expansion modules and the FX-16 can slave other controllers including other FX's and ASC's (I have not actually slaved any ASC's but was told it works).
I had an application where I needed 19 AO's and 19 AI's and slaved controllers with an FX-16. It was pretty cool, but learning the programming can be a pain.
