Performing a Lon job with a Mitsubishi split system going back to a NAE.
I do not have an .xif resource file.
How can I upload the .xif file to put in the NAE as a resource file?

What is your network management tool?

I am familiar with Lon and Lonmaker, but not with the NAE.

Drop a generic Lon device on the drawing from your lonmaker basic shapes stencil. Choose your interface type - FT-10/whatever it is and make sure you have a channel of that type on your drawing. Name it and then choose upload from device on the .xif file. I've always then service pinned the device to get the NID. Anyway once it's done commissioning you can then drop a function block referencing your new device and make connections.

The LNS tool can commission without a xif, but the NAE requires one. The easiest is to use Nodeutil to connect to the device and generate a xif file. Then just add the xif to the NAE as a resource.

Nodeutil182 I believe is the latest, available free from echelon's web site.

Started to do your suggestion but then I received
the Mitsubishi CD with the .XIF file on it.
Loaded the standard and the device.xif files in NAE35 Lon
as resource files.
Rebooted NAE.
It found the device but when I try to discover
points, the NAE locks up then reboots.
NAE version is 4.0
Any suggestions???

Did you build a LON network? You should be able to see both devices online thru your LON interface.

files named STANDARD.TYP and STANDARD.FPT. The final required resource
file is the default NV Configuration Data file. This required resource file, in a
default state, is automatically added to the NAE resource file list when adding the
LON Integration object. This default file must be updated with the actual installed
configuration data by sending the LONWORKS network image to the NAE from
MCL Tool

You need to also set the NAE and devices on the same domain!! Do this with a lon managment tool.

Yes, the lon network is built and I can see points in the field from Lonmaker.

I cannot discover the points in the NAE.

The domains are the same however here is the other info
under the device Hardware tab.

Manufacturer: Mitsubishi Electric Corp.
Device Class: SPIDDataFile Error
Device SubClass: Network Management
Transceiver: TP/XF-1250
DSN1: 37/01/01
XIF Present: False

Why error by Device Class?
Is the transceiver correct?
Any suggestions?

It does look like the transceiver is the problem. My guess is that the NAE is FTTP-10. The baud rate is much higher on the TP/XF-1250. That is generally used for backbones or high speed network channels. Does the NAE have 1250 capability?

I don't think so but Can I change the 1250 in Lonmaker or
is the transceiver specified in the .xif file

The transceiver is hardware, normally it can not be field changed. You probably need to get a TP/XF 1250 to FT-10 router.

The Mitsubishi board has a FT-10 chip in it.
NAE needs FT-10 communication.
Load the .XIF file and it shows up TP/XF-1250
in the NAE.
Used Echelon tool to look at the .XIF file
and TP/XF-1250 shows up in the .XIF file.

Called Mitsubishi tech support and they claim
they only have one .XIF file for this unit and
it is FT-10 communication.
They sent it to me but still same issue.

Any suggestions?

I agree with poochz and outofcontrolman you sould not even attempt an integration without nodeutil. once you understand how it works and you will never understand how you got along without it. Just because somebody from the manufacturer sends you an xif doesn't mean it was the right one, if you generate it yourself then there is no question. Anyway its free!!! and you can show off to your friends look how smart I am works great on the chicks too huh!!!!
