converted a freestanding stove to NG from propane will it heat the same

We have a heat stove that was propane we converted it to Natural gas will it heat different and will the efficiency change ?

Depends if the conversion was done right.

If it was done right, it will work as well or better then before.

I hope its a vented heater.

yup its vented right into the living area, they said it would be more efficient that way, lol only joshing ya.

Its B-Vent up thru the roof thru the old woodstove pipe so it still looks like a woodstove;)

The conversion was as follows, new burner tube, new pilot orffice,new burner orfice and new gas regulator. That was it !

I thought someone said propane had more heat from it than NG or it was more efficient or something..

Most important issue here is that it must be converted the right way, and check for gas leaks and propper ventilation of flue gas

:rolleyes:I assume it was done correctly, no gas leaks, I did check myself too, seems to operate correctly, vent is working properly too

That chart seems way off, the prices anyway, NG is 1.70 per therm and I think propane is like 3.00 a gallon. I like the chart wish there was one with up to date prices.

I dont know why I was thinking that propane was cheaper because it had more btu;s than NG :confused:

In 2008, propane cost $42.67 per 1 million BTUs when used for heating.

In 2008, natural gas was $22.25 per 1 million BTUs

PDF said 100 million BTUS for average heating season. those seem closer to yours? remember prices vary from place to place.
