View Full Version : Vibration Mounts - Recommendations?

Hello,

I am wondering if any of you can suggest a manufacturer and distributor for vibration mounts to hang equipment from floor joists in a crawl space?

Specifically I am trying to isolate a dehumidifier from coupling vibration to the floor in the living area. The ones used to mount A/H are too big and too stiff for something like a dehumidifier. The ones I need should only be rated about 20-25 pounds apiece.

Thanks,

Steve

Just call them and give them a weight. They'll get you what you need.

More than likely something like this...

Click on the following URL for McMaster-Carr.

http://www.mcmaster.com/

Type in 'vibration dampers' (without the single quotes) in the upper left-side search window.

Click - Scroll - Search for your particular damper needs.

Load limits, dimensions, etc. are all listed.

Hope this helps.

Lash,

Thanks for the great web site! It looks like they offer a wide choice of vibration dampers. I looked at the SHU product and it was still a little too heavy. After looking around the site some more I stumbled across the SHAA and SHAB family:

These offer smaller sizes and lighter load ratings which should be just right for a dehumidifier. Now I have to find who sells them...

Thanks,

Steve

SAE,

Thanks for the suggestion but I checked McMaster and they seem to only carry the heavier load vibration dampers.

We usually get them straight from them. They can get them to you pretty quick.
